Training Excellence reaps dividends for us
- 17th April 2019
We are delighted to promote two of our Grimsby based staff to our management team. After being shortlisted in the 2019 Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards for the Training Excellence Award the promotions reflects the success of our training programme.
Aimee Appleton, a chartered certified accountant, has been appointed as a Manager. She is a product of the practice’s successful training programme having joined the firm as a trainee accountant in 2005 following studying for A levels at Franklin College. Aimee manages the outsourcing team, who deal with bookkeeping, payroll and company secretarial work. She also deals with the compliance of small companies, including preparation of accounts, associated tax returns and company secretarial duties. Aimee has also been instrumental in the success of the practice’s digital offering and resolving clients’ Making Tax Digital issues.
In her spare time she enjoys playing netball for the Forrester Boyd team, spending time with her family and catching up with friends.
Vicky Lamb is another success story, being appointed as an Assistant Manager. She grew up in Grimsby and attended Tollbar school and 6th form and went on to gain a first class degree from the University of Liverpool in 2009. Following further studies, Vicky joined the practice in 2011 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in December 2014. Today, she manages a diverse portfolio of small and medium sized businesses across a variety of sectors from farming to pensions.
Vicky is a volunteer within the charity girl guiding where she supports local Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units whilst also being a Brownie leader in a local unit herself. Vicky also enjoys baking and spends her Saturday afternoons watching Grimsby Town.
Staff partner, Kevin Hopper, said “I wish them both every success in their new roles which will further strengthen our senior management team, enabling us to continue to provide high quality support to our clients with a personal service. We take great pride in our training programme offering local people the opportunity to pave a successful career path in accounting. Many of our partners started as trainees with the practice, myself being one of them. We believe in nurturing and developing home grown talent and Aimee and Vicky are just two more stories of our success in doing just that.”
This announcement coincides with the appointment of two further managers at the firms’ Scunthorpe and Louth offices.
