Great Grimsby Day Poetry Competition

  • 25th January 2021

Following our Poem competition to celebrate Great Grimsby Day, we are delighted to be able to announce our winner. Well, winners actually. Partners at Forrester Boyd could not decide between two of the entries so decided to announce them both as winners and split the prize accordingly.

Alison Mitchell, marketing manager created her poem which she sent to the partners. You can read her poem here. This led to the launch of the poem competition with the bar being set high. We were really impressed with the entry from Joanne Wright however with her really poignant poem about Great Grimsby. You can read Joanne's Poem here.

We are sure that you will agree that both poems are worthy winners and are delighted to donate £250 to each of the charities they nominated. Alison nominated the Harbour Place charity in Grimsby, whilst Joanne nominated the Sunflowers Children’s Action Group.

We are sure that this donation will help both these charities who do an absolutely amazing job of helping vulnerable people in the region. Fundraising is so difficult for all charities in the current circumstances so we do hope that these donations will go some way to help.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our competition and for sharing our social media posts celebrating Great Grimsby Day.
