The Bradbury Foundation Supports Local Carers with £1,000 Grant
- 25th March 2025
The Bradbury Foundation has awarded a £1,000 grant to the Carers Support Service in Grimsby to help fund its Carers Lunch Club.
This initiative provides a vital opportunity for 20 local Carers to take a break from their responsibilities, enjoy social interaction, and find much-needed support from others in similar situations.
Many of these Carers face significant financial challenges, with some having to leave employment entirely to care for loved ones. The rising cost of living has only added to their struggles. The Carers Lunch Club offers more than just a meal—it creates a space where Carers can build friendships, share experiences, and enhance their mental health and well-being.
Carrie Jensen, Trustee at The Bradbury Foundation, visited the Carers Support Centre to present the donation alongside Service Manager Sue White. Speaking about the grant, Carrie said:
"We are delighted to support such an important initiative. Carers give so much of themselves to look after loved ones, often at great personal cost. By funding the Carers Lunch Club, we hope to help ease some of their burden and offer them a well-deserved break."
The Carers Support Service has been a cornerstone of support in North East Lincolnshire, working tirelessly to ensure that unpaid Carers receive the recognition and help they deserve. Through services like the Lunch Club, they provide emotional, practical, and social support to those who need it most.
